2012 Reunion News Bulletin

The next Edison Over-the-Hill Gang Reunion is August 3-5, 2012 at the Doral Golf Resort & Spa in Miami. Room rate is the same as last year, $111 plus tax, with free parking in the Legends Ballroom parking lot. As in 2010, we have complete and exclusive use of the Legends Ballroom for the weekend. For those wishing to stay in the south Florida area longer, the Doral will extend our rate three days before and after our event. Be sure to mention "Miami Edison" to receive our special roomrate.

On Friday night the classes of '62 and '63 will celebrate the 50th anniversary of their graduation at a separate reunion within a reunion dinner. Those classes not having individual celebrations will attend the combined OTHG buffet dinner. After dinner, all classes will get together for entertainment and dancing by Spanky and Dino. Please contact the OTHG if your class would like to celebrate your reunion within ours.

Saturday morning after breakfast we are planning to take buses to visit our old high school. The OTHG's traditional Pep Rally, featuring the Edison Band, Cheerleaders, Cadettes, Majorettes, and more, will take place in the beautifully renovated Fred and Mary Exum Auditorium.

After a free afternoon, all classes will be together for Saturday night's Banquet, with entertainment and dancing afterward provided by one of south Florida's premiere party bands The Fabulons.

Sunday morning we will have a continental breakfast and time to say our goodbyes for another two years. The Miami Edison OTHG has a very extensive inventory of school and class memorabilia which we display at every reunion and which takes up an entire banquet room.

Due to delays in negotiating school board red-tape to arrange Saturday morning's program at the school, the reunion newsletter/registration form containing event pricing details and hotel information will be mailed about the second week of May. We are still looking for Cheerleader, Majorette/Raiderette, Cadette and Band participants (from all years 1926 thru 1978) for the Saturday morning Pep Rally. If you are interested, or know of any classmates who would like to participate, please let us know.

REUNIONS WITHIN A REUNION
Many classes hold reunions within the Over-the-Hill Gang's reunion. It's a great economical way for classes to gather and celebrate graduation milestones.
